Short description:

Variability of tasks that’s carried out in traning process is proportional to the technological and social development. National education system and individual institutions are subject to continuous adaptation to changing conditions. Knowledge of the historical and current innovations introduced on the content, methods, organization and technology education is an inspiration for future modernization efforts. The course is also a basic knowledge of legal regulations and terms and concepts related to innovative and experimental activities in education. During classes we’ll also conduct an analysis of changes in the ways of teaching in contemporary Polish education system.

Terminology and regulations related to innovation activities in education and experimentation.

Educational reforms and innovations - conditions and trends.

Socialization, democratization, pluralization, and decentralization of power as the main directions of school reform during last 20 years in Poland.

Analysis of the structural and organizational changes in education, pointing associated regulations positioning the teacher education institutions, school management and supervising bodies.

Reforms of education organizations, programs, methods and commitment to modern technology as the basis for the analysis of innovative activity in the school system.

Overview of experiments and innovations currently entering school in the Polish education.

Learning outcomes:

The student will know the terminology and the legal basis of innovations and experiments going on in the Polish school system. Conduct classification and evaluation of school experiments due to the results obtained or anticipated of educational practice and effects. Will analyze the input processes of innovation in the context of changes taking place in the Polish educational system and in the context of global changes of civilization.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Attendance at classes. Preparing for classes and class participation. Prepare analysis of selected educational projects with the status of the experiment or educational innovation.
