(in Polish) Wskazane jest by student podejmujący zajęcia posiadał podstawową wiedzę z zakresu makroekonomii, mikroekonomii i podstaw informatyki.

Short description:

The aim of this course is to present modern IT applications and implications on banking industry. Special attention has been paid to information systems in this area, theit specifity, and complexity.

1. Banking information systems – an introduction.

2. Information infrastructure of modern economy & banking information systems. 3. Computer systems in the banking industry – their attributes, basic characteristics, conditions of development. 4. Basic architectures of banking information systems. 5. IT in the banking industry – directions of the development. 6. Electronic banking, internet banking & virtual banking. Distribution of banking services through Internet.

7. Automated Clearing Houses. Interbank settlements organisation in Poland and other EU countries. 8. Standards of electronic communication. EDI/SWIFT technology. Standards and recommendations – BIS (Bank of International Settlements). 9. Credit information systems. 10. Computer risk and methods of its reduction, e.g. banking information systems. Disaster revovery.

The course increases competency of participants on labour market, given theoretical and practical background in information management in banks and other financial institutions.

Knowledge:

Upon completion of the course a student knows basic modern IT applications and implications on banking industry.

Skills:

Upon completion of the course a student is able to discuss arguments in favor and against the importance of modern banking information systems.

Social competences:

The course enriches student`s theoretical knowledge and boosts their analytical and scientific competences.
