  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Prerequisites (description):

(in Polish) Students participating in the Field Trip must be in the position to complete the specialization by the end of the semester, meaning that they must have completed and be enrolled in a sufficient number of courses to achieve this.

Short description:

This course is primarily a research workshop.

During the course students will develop their own small research project on selected topics relevant to the research trip location. The purpose is to practice research skills learnt during the social research specialization by applying them to the topics or issues identified on location.

Learning outcomes:

Students will:

 learn how to plan and conduct an applied, context embedded, research project

 gain competences in obtaining and analyzing contextual data, using a variety of methods

 gain competences in developing ad hoc research plans

This course is a main subject of a weeklong workshop to be held outside of Warsaw

Selected topics of the course:

 Collective memory

 Social issues

 Community problems

 Intergroup relations

 Integration of different theoretical and methodological approaches

 The process of asking ad hoc research questions

 Gathering data to address these questions

 Data analysis

 Presentation of results
