ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 3.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

Organizational culture is an extremely complex phenomenon, both as a theoretical construct and as a measurement object. Various definitions and approaches to organizational culture will be discussed, as well as suggestions for description and / or measurement arising therefrom. Schein's qualitative approach will be discussed in detail, and the methods of studying culture proposed in this approach. During the final classes, descriptions of real cultures of different organizations will be analyzed.

Learning outcomes:

Knowledge: A student after completing the course knows research approaches to organizational culture. He knows the most important theoretical concepts.

Attitudes: The student after completing the course evaluates the acquired knowledge, maintaining an understanding and sensitive attitude to the good of the individual.

Skills: The student is able to independently collect data and carry out an analysis of the culture of the organization of any company. Is able to adapt the methods used and approach to the needs of the organization. Is able to prepare a research and analysis report.

Organizational culture is an extremely complex phenomenon, both as a theoretical construct and as a measurement object. Various definitions and approaches to organizational culture will be discussed, as well as suggestions for description and / or measurement arising therefrom. Schein's qualitative approach will be discussed in detail, and the methods of studying culture proposed in this approach. During the final classes, descriptions of real cultures of different organizations will be analyzed.
