  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;

Przede wszystkim studenci ze specjalizacji Psychologia kliniczna dziecka i rodziny oraz Neuropsychologia kliniczna (liczą się ECTS do specjalizacji). Na wolne miejsca studenci ze specjalizacji Psychologia zdrowia, w dalszej kolejności także inni studenci dwóch ostatnich lat.

Short description:

During the course, arrangements for communication situations will be prepared (scenes: patient-doctor-other medical staff), which will then be used during “Medical communication” classes for first-year medical students at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Warsaw.

Learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

The student can see the specificity of the contact in the patient-doctor relationship and the diversity of perspectives of the participants. The students recognize the communication needs of patients and communication difficulties experienced by doctors and other medical staff.

Skills:

The student is able to recognize and interpret personality, environmental, and situational conditions related to the disease and seeking medical help. The student is able to recognize difficulties in communication between the patient-doctor-other medical staff and plan methods to support communication.

The student is able to participate in simulations of communication situations and provide feedback.

Competences:

The student does not adopt an evaluative attitude. The student is aware of the diversity of attitudes, goals, and values revealed in the situation of illness and relationships between patients and medical staff.

Full description:

We will prepare simulation scenes regarding various situations in the contact between the patient-doctor - other medical staff. These scenarios will be used for classes for first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Warsaw. Following the established scenarios, psychology students will be "patients" for the Faculty of Medicine students. Afterward, experiences from particular situations will be discussed together.

We especially invite students with stage predispositions, ready to "impersonate" various characters.
