Short description: |
The aim of the course is to present basic issues related to the creation and evaluation of business plans. In particular, issues such as planning functions and methods, demand and sales estimation techniques, schedules, and business plan errors are discussed. |

Business plans are not only used when starting new companies. They can also be used by existing companies both in launching investment projects and in everyday operations. During the classes, participants will learn about the following topics: 1.The need for planning - functions of planning, - business plan functions, 2.Types of business plans, - business plans of existing companies, - business plans for new ventures, - shortened business plans, - full business plans 3. How to write plans - what analysts pay attention to, - business plan errors. 4.Before you start planning - knowledge needed for planning, - filling in the gaps. 5.Addressees of business plans - employees, - managers, - contractors, - investors. 6 - 7. Business plan - description of the project - formulating goals, - means of achieving goals, - localization problems 8.Business plan - product description - product characteristics, - suppliers, - delivery conditions 9. – 10 Business plan - market research - sources of knowledge, - buyer analysis - demand estimation methods - sales estimation methods. 11.Business plan - management - Human resources - the most important systems 12.Business plan - marketing - marketing mix in the business plan - costs of promotional activities 13.Business plan – schedules - timetables, - CPM. 14. Business plan - risk analysis - chances, - threats. 15. Business plan - financial planning. - balance sheet, - break even point. |

Student after completing the course: In terms of knowledge • Knows and understands the specificity, principles, procedures and practices regarding the creation and operation of a small enterprise, its key functions (operational, marketing, financial, personnel management) and its relationship with the environment (S1_W02); (K_W02) • Knows and understands technological, social, political, legal, economic and ecological processes and phenomena and their impact on the creation and functioning of a small enterprise. (S1_W05); (K_W05) • Knows and understands the principles of creating and developing various forms of entrepreneurship. (S1_W06); (K_W06) In terms of skills • Is able to correctly interpret technological, social, political, legal, economic and ecological processes and phenomena and their impact on the creation and functioning of a small enterprise, using the appropriate selection of sources. (S1_U02); (K_U02) • Is able to plan and organize own and team work. (S1_U05); (K_U05) • Has the ability to self-educate and improve acquired qualifications. Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Learning outcomes will be verified on an ongoing basis by means of tasks performed by participants during the seminar and, at the end, during the seminar in the form of a presentation of the prepared business plan. The following are subject to assessment: - activity during the conversation, - business plan (document) prepared by students in groups, - presentation of the business plan by groups. Completing the course requires: - creating groups by the students to prepare shortened business plans, - choosing the topic of the designed business plan (after consulting with the manager), - presenting the level of advancement of work by each group during classes in the middle of the semester, - preparation of a business plan in the form of a document by each group. - presenting each business plan to the entire discussion group. The assessment for the seminar will consist of the following elements: - activity during the seminar and preparation for the meeting to verify the progress of work in the middle of the semester - 10% of the final grade, - document (business plan) prepared by each group - 45% of the final grade, - presentation of the business plan to the seminar group - 45% of the final grade. |
