  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

The subject is devoted to the organization and functioning of public administration, considering its mission, tasks, structure and how it handles individual cases.

Full description:

The following issues will be discussed:

1. mission in public administration

2. conceptual apparatus of public administration

3. principles of functioning of public administration

4 The legal basis for the functioning of public administration

5. structures of public administration (government and local government)

6 Forms and methods of operation of public administration

7 Contemporary control in public administration (internal and external)

8 The role of the judiciary in the functioning of public administration

9. the right to good administration

10. responsive public administration (interaction of citizens with public administration)

Learning outcomes:

Upon completion of the course the student:

1. Knows and understands the research methodology and terminology in the discipline of legal science (K_W01)

2. Knows and understands to an advanced degree the principles, procedures and practices of public administration activities, its key functions, and its relations with the environment (K_W02)

3. Knows and understands to an advanced degree the legal regulations on the functioning of public administration (K_W04)

4. Knows and understands technological, social, political, legal, economic, and ecological processes and phenomena and their impact on the functioning of public administration (K_W05)

5. Knows and understands the principles of creation and development of entrepreneurial forms of public administration (K_W06)

6. Can correctly interpret technological, social, political, legal, economic, ecological processes and phenomena and their impact on the functioning of public administration, using a proper selection of sources (K-U02)

7. Can plan, organize own and teamwork (K-U05)

8. Has the ability to self-educate and improve acquired skills (K-U06)

9. Is ready to evaluate and critically approach situations and phenomena related to the functioning of public administration (K_U01)
