Short description: |
This is a course on Copyright - commonly defined as the most controversial intellectual property right. In particular, the course will frame the current copyright system, its strengths and its weaknesses. |
Full description: |
The purpose of the course is to acquire an understanding of copyright law and to exploit its potential in business realities, mainly focusing on the EU and US systems. |

Learning outcomes: |
After completing the course, a student will: - Understand the main rules applicable to copyright; - Acquire a good knowledge of the global debate on the value of copyright as a business asset; - Understand the dynamics of copyright-based industries. |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
The final exam will be written. Students who participate in at least 70% of the lectures will have the opportunity to select at their choice two of the three open questions that are part of the written exam. The students that will not participate to at least 70% of the lectures will have to answer all the questions in the written examination. |
