ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 2.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

The course introduces the issue of managing the business cooperation of enterprises. Students will get in touch with theoretical aspects of inter-organizational cooperation, as well as the methods and techniques of developing this cooperation. There will be also described some examples of vertical and horizontal cooperation.

Full description:

The course program covers the following topics:

1. Inter-organizational cooperation in management sciences. Cognitive dimensions, research approaches, analytical perspectives. Synergy in cooperation (3 hours).

2. Development of cooperation from the processual point of view. Planning cooperation, phases in cooperation management, trust management, knowledge management, resource sharing management (3 hours).

3. Vertical and horizontal cooperation. Examples of supply chain cooperation and science-business cooperation (3 hours).

Learning outcomes:

After the course, the student:

- can situate the subject of inter-organizational cooperation in the theory of Management and Quality Sciences,

- understands the basic cognitive dimensions, research approaches and analytical perspectives related to the subject of inter-organizational cooperation,

-can distinguish various phases of cooperation and indicate its characteristic features,

- is aware of such issues as relations and trust in cooperation,

- knows how to develop inter-organizational cooperation,

- knows how to take care of cooperation management,

- understands the differences between the management of vertical and horizontal types of cooperation.
