Short description:

During the course students will learn key concepts associated with management of intellectual property rights in enterprises, in particular:

1. importance of copyrights in business

2. Derivative works

3. Plagiarism

4. Image and personality rights

Full description:

During the course students will learn key concepts associated with management of intellectual property rights in enterprises, in particular:

1. importance of copyrights in business

The subject of the class will focus on protection of intellectual property, in particular copyright (subject matter and definition, rights of the creator and employer).

2. Derivative works

Students will learn what are derivative works and how they can be used and transferred.

3. Plagiarism

The class will be devoted to the issue of plagiarism. Practical examples will be used to illustrate what activities qualify as plagiarism and what are the legal consequences of such conduct.

4. Image and personality rights

The class will be dedicate to the issue of image dissemination. Students will learn what constitutes an image of an individual that is subjected to legal protection.
