Short description:

One of the courses preparing for a teacher profession, particularly for the task of teaching at a school library. It teaches the basic methodology of lessons. The practices are performed at school libraries cooperating with the Institute. As part of the practices organized in these libraries, the students initially directly observe classes taught by teachers - librarians then, they conduct lessons.

Full description:

Subject teaching methodology of lessons based on the well-organized collections of the school library, both for students as well as teachers. It teaches the creation of bibliographic and information workshop required for the efficient operation of the school library and for the implementation of teaching and other tasks. The exercises consist, among others, of learning in detail the current core curriculum for elementary school, middle school and high school, participation in demonstration lessons conducted by teachers and on individual preparation of lesson plans and implementing them during conducted lessons.

Course provides basis methodology concerning the process of conducting lessons. It is based on well-organized collections of the school library, both for students and teachers. It teaches creation bibliographic and information workshop required for the efficient operation of school library and for the implementation of didactics and other tasks.

Among others the practices consist of observing lessons conducted by teachers - librarians in school exercise libraries. Moreover participants individually develop lesson drafts with detailed outlines.

- He has knowledge about contemporary theories of education, learning and teaching, and the various conditions of these processes;

- Can independently acquire knowledge and develop their professional skills related to the pedagogical activity (teaching, educational and caring), using different sources (Polish and foreign) and advanced technologies;

- Has the diagnostic skills allowing recognizing the position of pupils with special educational needs, developing observations and draw conclusions;

-Has developed communication skills: able to communicate with people from different backgrounds, which are in various emotional conditions, resolve conflicts with dialogue and create a good atmosphere for communication in the classroom;

- Is able to assess the suitability of common methods, processes and best practices to the tasks of teaching, education and caring associated with the respective stages of education;

- Is able to choose and use the available materials, the means and methods of work in order to design and implement effective pedagogical activities (teaching, education and care), and use modern technology to teaching;

- Able to direct the process of education and upbringing, has the ability to work with a group (team upbringing, class);

- Can animate the work on the development of the participants pedagogical processes, support their independence in acquiring knowledge and inspire action to lifelong learning;

- He is able to work with students, individualize tasks and adapt methods and content to the needs and abilities of the pupils (including pupils with special educational needs) and changes in the world and in science;

- Able to use the principles and ethical standards in the performance of activities;

- Is aware of the need for individualizing pedagogical activities (teaching, education and care) in relation to pupils with special educational needs;

- Responsible preparing for their work or projects and performing pedagogical activities (teaching, education and welfare);

- He is ready to take individual and collective action to improve the quality of school work;

- Knows how to prepare classroom lessons for students of primary, middle school and high school using as a means of teaching resources of the school library (books, magazines, multimedia, Internet)

- Can lead the lesson according to the synopsis prepared by him.
