Text as a subject of linguistic and bibliological analysis. Main concepts: abstract, annotation, documentary analysis, content analysis, indexing, paraphrasis, keywords, summary, travesty. Selected aspects of genology. Research text as a subject of content analysis. Problems of information analysis. Practicing content analysis - developing derivative referring documents. Indexing. Keywords in documentary analyses. Abstracts of research texts: abstract vs summary – differences. Retrieval function of abstracts. |

A student: - has a detailed knowledge on content analysis; - understands the need of conscious information processing for the needs of information and knowledge society; - knows and understands basic methods of analysis and interpretation of different written documents, adequate for selected traditions, theories, or research schools in library and information science; - is aware of a complex nature of language (artificial languages included) and its historical changes; - can work in a team, fulfilling different roles. |
