  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;

Short description:

"Education reading and media" covers a range of issues related to the media, the Internet, and the use of multimedia technology in school education at all levels of education.

Full description:

"Education reading and media" is one of the contents listed in the core curriculum at all levels of education. It covers a number of issues related to the media, the Internet, and the use of multimedia technology in school education classes concerned, especially using the collections and workshop of the school library and classroom libraries, teaching the use of different types of documents and information sources. Subject interdisciplinary.

Learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

- Knowledge of current curriculum in the current school system at all levels (primary, junior secondary schools).

- Knowledge of reading material needed in schools to implement the curriculum.

- Knowledge of the department "Self-directed learning" (in the Polish language), in which the department is expected to use literature: quotation, coverage, bibliographic description; using various sources of information (documents, reference books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, databases, tape recordings and video recordings, Internet).

Skills:

- Driving lessons using collections of the school library, and its informative workshop, among others, through automated search systems,

- The free use of the media as sources of information and opinion in the inquiry-knowledge.

- Making mature, the correct choice of means of mass communication on the basis of a critical analysis of the offered messages.

Social competence:

- Competence teaching the teacher, especially a teacher - librarian (reading and the ability to freely use media devices).

- Meeting the needs of cognitive users of the school library and the skillful use of different sources of information to the critical reception of media and prepare media coverage.
