Foreign students will get a broader knowledge about important and interesting artists, events, and facts of contemporary Polish cinematography and its pop-cultural dimension. You will learn about movies that influenced Polish national identity. Additionally, you will learn some of the basic terms in Polish, referring to Polish culture. 1. Ashes and Diamonds (1958), dir. Learning outcomes: |
Students will get a broader knowledge about important and interesting artists, events, and facts of contemporary Polish cinematography and its pop-cultural dimension. You will learn about movies which influenced Polish national identity. Additionally, you will learn some of the basic terms in Polish, referring to Polish culture. |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
- Attendance in class (only two unjustified absences possible) - 20% - Homeworks - 30% - Active participation in post-screening discussions - 20% - Final test - 30% In order to receive credit for the course at the end of the semester, a student must meet the requirements in each of the above categories and pass the final test. A student who exceeds the acceptable number of absences and fails to meet the requirement of at least 60% in one category will not receive credit. |
