The students will get a broader knowledge about important and interesting people, events, and facts of contemporary Polish culture and its pop-cultural dimension. You will learn about specifically Polish elements, but also find out how much of the cultural offer and identity comes with the global flows. Additionally, you will learn some of the basic terms in Polish, referring to Polish culture. Pop-Cultural Heroes of Polish Imagination, Pop-cultural look at the Polish history (i.e. Warsaw Uprising), The sports, The phenomenon of Legia Warszawa football club, Polish Cult Movies, Polish songs, Polish Hip-Hop Culture, Songs about Warszawa, Polish video games, Graphic novels. * this is an e-learning course, there are no real-time meetings. ** due to the COVID-19 regulations of the UW administration, the syllabi could have been accordingly adjusted.
