Archaeology of ancient Iran in historical periods. Analysis of main problems of the archaeology of Iran: palace and residential architecture, court art from the Median period to the end of the rule of Sasanian dynasty, influence of the Sasanian art on the European art will be conducted. |

Learning outcomes: |
Students will acquire the ability to carry out an independent analysis, description and interpretation of archaeological sources. These abilities will permit them to undertake scientific work. students will have organized and cogent knowledge, thorough, leading to specialization, a detailed knowledge about ancient cultures of Iran, well acquainted with the terminology, theories and methodology of archeology. Students after the seminar have deep knowledge of the cultural relationshipsbetween ancient Iran with other areas of the Middle East and Europe. Students will acquire the basic vocabulary, concepts, and criteria for understanding, interpreting, and analyzing |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Students who chose this seminar as a major prepare the master thesis, others seminar paper. Both the seminar paper or master thesis have provide proof of ability to formulate research questions in relation to the selected category of sources, the skill to formulate own conclusions, to argue and to create synthetic summaries, considering also different points of view. Students will understand and appreciate the role of values, beliefs, and ideas in ancient Iranian societies. |
