  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;

Short description:

The classes will be devoted to the musical culture of the Republic in the XVI-XVIII centuries. Overview of the events will be made chronologically - will be discussed cultural organization in our country during the reign of successive royal dynasties: Jagiellonians-Vasa-Saxons.

The classes will be devoted to the musical culture of the Republic in the XVI-XVIII centuries. Overview of the events will be made chronologically - will be discussed cultural organization in our country during the reign of successive royal dynasties: Jagiellonians-Vasa-Saxons.

The organization of musical life:

- At the royal court (functions and types of cultivated music, bandmaster, changes in the composition of the team, the cost of living artists, musicians living conditions, the development of musical patronage)

- On the courts of magnates and prelates (the most important centers of musical bands held)

- The ecclesiastical centers (cathedral, colleges, churches and diocesan); music in monasteries and monastic religious centers

- In big cities (professional musicians, artists employed by the municipal authorities, itinerant musicians)

In addition, attention will be paid to:

- Artistic foreign contacts

- And education to music education in various types of facilities

- Skryptorom and kopistom associated with different types of centers

- Printing. Polish and foreign prints

Learning outcomes:

Student after completion of the course:

- Has ordered a detailed knowledge in the field of musical culture of the Republic of XVI-XVIII

- Have basic knowledge about the main directions of development and major achievements in the field of musical culture of the Old Polish

- Is able to search, analyze, evaluate, select and use information using a variety of sources and methods

- It has basic research skills, including the formulation and analysis of research problems, choosing research methods and tools, the development and presentation of the results, allowing for solving research problems in musicology

- Is able to independently acquire knowledge and develop research skills by following the instructions scientific supervisor

- It has the ability to substantive argumentation, using the views of other authors, and to formulate proposals

- Has the ability to prepare typical of written work in Polish, on specific issues, using basic theoretical approaches and different sources

- Has the ability to prepare speeches in Polish, on specific issues, using basic theoretical approaches and different sources
