ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 1.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Prerequisites (description):

The topic of this course are various forms of religious drama, existing in the musical culture of Europe from the eleventh to the eighteenth century. In diachronical review of subsequent species of this group there are analyzed their relationships with the liturgy and secular forms of music drama. Classes are led as consevatory workshop with the analysis of the characteristics of formal and stylistic genres on selected examples.

Learning outcomes:

The student is familiar with the basic forms of religious stage music. Is able to collect and present synthetic information on a selected topic. He can actively participate in academic discussions.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

During the semester, the students are asked for choosing the selected topic and present it during the lessons in 2-3 person teams. The note depends from the activity of the audience during the lessons, proportional to the number of the proposed question.
