Learning outcomes: |
Students should know the most important trends in the development of Renaissance music, be aware of the chronology of events, be able to characterize the work of the most outstanding composers, recognize and be able to describe compositional techniques and musical forms, and recognize selected Renaissance works by ear. |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
In order to pass the classes, a musical analysis of a given Renaissance composition at the last meeting of the semester has to be submitted. The following will be assessed: reliability of the analysis, ability to synthesize, systematicity of statements, style of statements and text editing. The classes are completed by an auditory and substantive test based on the indicated literature on the subject. The condition for passing is obtaining a minimum of 55 out of 90 points for the entire course. The course ends with an oral exam covering the topics of the lecture and classes. The condition for admission to the exam is passing the classes. Students answer two questions from a randomly selected set. The substantive content and logic of the student's answers are assessed. The condition for passing the entire course is obtaining a positive grade in the oral exam. |
