The lecture presents the history of European Philosophy in its historical and problematic development. The main questions, problems, most known figures and philosophical schools will be presented in clear and concise way. The lecture ends with pass with grade. Topics: 1. The Problem of Knowledge and Wisdom: Sophists, Socrates and his method 2. Paideia: the probem of upbringing and ethical life (bios theoretikos): Pythagoreans, Plato 3. Wisdom and Philosophy, politics and aesthetics: Plato 4. Science and Philosophy: Aristotel 5. The Problem of a Good Life and Happyness (Fronesis): Stoics, Sceptics, Epicurean 6. Christian Philosophy, the relation between reason and faith: Augustin Aurelius & Thomas Aquinas 7. The Problem of Individuum and Free Will - rationalism: Descartes, Leibniz, Pascal & Schopenhauer 8. The Human Mind – empiricism: Locke, Berkeley, Hume 9. Paradoxes of Social and Political Life: Hobbs, Wolter, Rousseau 10. Epistemology and Judgment: Kant 11. Absurd and Faith, Individualism and Irrationalism: Pascal, Kierkegaard 12. Phenomenological Experience: Husserl, Ingarden, Merleau-Ponty 13.
