  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Prerequisites (description):

The seminar focuses on the history of European music of the Middle Ages and Renaissance and on the music related to the Polish sources to ca. 1800. Depending on the interests of the participants various aspects of research will be taken into account, including source criticism, analysis of selected works, music culture and others.

Schedule is adapted to the interests of the participants. Students focus on the preparation of their thesis, present papers concerning results of successive stages of their research and take part in discussions on the issues presented by others.

Literature selected individually depending on the interests of participants.

Learning outcomes:

The student acquires skills in the use of sources, literature and writing of scientific papers.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The basis of assessment is student’s activity, regular research reports as well as a written fragment of a diploma thesis.
