ECTS credit allocation (and other scores):	3.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles: the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS; the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h; 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes; weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS; work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load. view allocation of credits

Short description:	The lecture is an overview of the main currents in Polish music of the 20th and 21st centuries. This will be presented in the context of stylistic and aesthetic phenomena characteristic of Western European music and on the examples of works by the most outstanding Polish composers. Classes are intended to deepen the knowledge gained in lecture.
Full description:	The lecture is a survey of the main trends in Polish music of the 20th and 21st centuries. This will be presented chronologically, in the context of European stylistic, aesthetic and technical phenomena (e.g. neo-classicism, dodecaphony and serialism, aleatorism, sonoristics/sonorism) which are typical for this period, as well as on the examples of works by the most outstanding Polish composers, e.g. Witold Lutosławski, Andrzej Panufnik, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Kazimierz Serocki, Tadeusz Baird. The composers of the "Stalowa Wola Generation", female composers and selected representatives of younger generations of artists will also be considered. Classes are intended to deepen the knowledge gained in lecture through listening and analysis.

Learning outcomes:	After completing the course student: - has a basic knowledge in the field of Polish 20th- and 21st music history; - has structured detailed knowledge in the field of Polish 20th- and 21st music history.
Assessment methods and assessment criteria:	Students will take an oral exam which will proof the gained knowledge and an aural test.
