Short description:

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic notions in contrastive grammar of Japanese and Polish, the basic grammatical diferences between both languages in the verbal and nouns system, taking into account pragmatical and stylistic conditions.

Contrastive grammar classes complement the Japanese descriptive grammar course and prepare students for translation workshops.

Learning outcomes:

Knowlegde

The student possesses well-ordered knowledge about major similarities and differences between language structures in Japanese and Polish (K_W01).

The student has the theoretical knowledge about contrastive grammar terminology of both languages, Japanese and Polish. (K1_W02)

Skills

The student is able to select, analyse and evaluate papers in contrastive grammar, using Japanese sources.

The student is able to identify the most frequent interferences and negative and positive transfer between Polish and Japanese (K1_U08).

Socio-cultural competences

He is ready to cooperate and work in a group, assume various roles and respect rules of good communication in Japanese (K1_K01);

He is ready to identify and properly solve communicative dilemmas between Japanese and Polish, which result from the asymmetry in linguistic systems and cultural variety (K1_K04);
