Short description:

Students shall be made aware of the distinctions between translation and interpretation; theoretical aspects of interpretation; aspects of research findings in disciplines that have a bearing on interpretation, for example, the language and cognitive sciences.

Full description:

The following issues will be discussed:

• Interpreting studies : definitions, notions, concepts, classifications and history.

• Types of interpreting: consecutive, simultaneous, simultaneous with text, remote interpreting

• Interpreting within the European and international institutions.

• Professional associations and codes of ethics for interpreters
