1. Peroidisation of Old-Russian art. Significant examples of church architecture (frescoes, mosaics, ikonostas). The origin and main features of icon-painting. 2. The great masters of icon-painting (Theofanes the Greek, Andrei Rublov, Dionisii). New tendencies in icon-painting ot the 17th century (Simon Ushakov). Parsunas. 3. The 18th century - secularisation and democratisation of art. The importance of reforms of Peter the Great for the development of art. Classicism in Russian painting. The 18th century - the age of a portrait (I. Nikitin, A. Matveev, F. Rokotov, D. Levitzky, V. Borovikovky etc.). 4. History painting (A. Losenko). The birth of ladscape painting (Semyon Shchedrin, F. Upon completion of this course , the student: [knowledge] - has general knowledge of the history of Russian painting since Old-Russian times until 20th century - knows the main currents of Russian painting and their representatives - knows the most important works of selected Russian painters, including icon-painting - knows and uderstands the origin and cultural traditions of Russian art - knows the most important museums of Moscow and St. Petersburg [skills] - is able to characterise the main currents of Russian painting - is able to characterise oeuvre of selected Russian painters - is able to identify and interpret selected works of Russian painters at the beginner's level [social competence] - is aware of the necessity of a continuous development of own knowledge of Russian art - is aware of the uniquenes of Russian cultural heritage and its importance for world culture - understands the necessity of development of own receptivity of aesthetics, recognises the meaning and purpose of acquaintance with works of past and contemporary art |
