Short description:

I. Polish staging of Russian plays and literary works (e.g. novels, short stories, narratives) adjusted to be staged and already staged in the theatre. Description and evaluation of the performance as compared with the text of the play or its adaptation. Basic material - creative activity of the Warsaw theatres within the last 50 years, especially within the last decade.

II. Russian literature of 19th century (mainly prose) from Pushkin to Chekhov and the most prominent 20th century writers, e.g. I. Bunin, V. Nabokov, M. Bulhakov, S. Dovlatov and many others.

I. Polish staging of Russian plays and literary works (e.g. novels, short stories, narratives) adjusted to be staged and already staged in the theatre. Learning outcomes: (in Polish)

Po ukończeniu seminarium student:

- umie analizować i interpretować literaturę przedmiotu;

- zna zasady sporządzania pracy naukowej, przygotowania bibliografii, streszczenia; przypisów

- jest w stanie napisać i obronić pracę magisterską.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Attendance monitoring, students' papers referring to their MA theses, discussion upon chapters of MA theses. Individual and group counselling.
