Prerequisites (description): | Credit for the course “Learning of the Russian language IV”. Possessing of a communicative competence in all areas of social and professional life. |
Short description: |
The classes are devoted to improving communicative competence by developing all language skills specified for the C1 language proficiency level (C1.1 course) within the framework of the entrepreneurship discourse, with particular emphasis on the properties of the official style of the modern Russian language.Pragmatic issues: goals and intentions in business communication, communication strategies used in business conversations, conventional phrases used in business contacts, business etiquette design. |

The program includes, among others: the following topics: 1. Properties of the official and business Russian language (general characteristics, lexical, grammatical and pragmatic properties, basic types of texts) – 6 hours. 2. Properties of business communication (written and oral forms, goals and intentions, communication strategies and tactics, principles of savoir vivre in business, business etiquette in Poland and Russia) – 6 hours. 3. Legal basis of entrepreneurship, types of business entities in Poland and Russia – 6 hours. 4. The structure and activities of the company (status and organization, date and place of establishment, directions of activity, list of full-time positions, economic indicators) – 12 hours. |

Learning outcomes: |
Knowledge The student: 1. knows and understands the properties of the official style of the modern Russian language: general characteristics, lexical, grammatical and pragmatic properties, basic types of texts; 2. knows and understands the properties of business communication, has structured knowledge of communication strategies and tactics used in business and business etiquette; 3. knows and understands the principles of legal basis of entrepreneurship, types of business entities in Poland and Russia. 4. knows and understands the principles of organizing business activities in the company. Skills The student: 1. can recognize and analyze various texts in Russian on business topics; 2. can independently search, analyze, evaluate, select and integrate texts related to business activities; 3. is able to establish business contacts, conduct business conversations, present the company using conventional phrases and the rules of business etiquette. Social competences The student: 1. is ready to critically evaluate his knowledge; 2. is ready to respect different attitudes, views, customs and cultures; 3. is ready to expand his knowledge in the field of business communication in modern social life. |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Assessment of the course: - presence and active participation in classes - systematic preparation of the assigned material for classes - timely completion of homework and inspections - active participation in work on the project The following criteria apply to the credits: - achieving the expected learning outcomes covering all important aspects - 5.0 (very good) - achieving the expected learning outcomes covering all important aspects with a small number of errors or inaccuracies - 4.5 (good plus) - achieving the expected learning outcomes without some (less important) aspects - 4.0 (good) - achieving the expected learning outcomes without some important aspects and with significant inaccuracies - 3.5 (satisfactory plus) - achieving the expected learning outcomes without significant aspects or with serious inaccuracies - 3.0 (satisfactory plus) - failure to achieve the expected learning outcomes – 2.0 (unsatisfactory) Assessment components: - continuous, formative assessment (current preparation for classes, activity) – 30% - mid-semester review papers – 35% - speeches, project – 35% Criteria for assessing written submissions: a/ compliance of the statement with the topic, b/ compliance of the statement with the required form, c/ composition, d/ linguistic richness, e/ linguistic correctness Criteria for assessing the oral presentation: a/ communication effectiveness (the student communicates effectively and correctly) b/ fluency and coherence of speech, phonetic correctness c/ correct use of grammatical structures (full or almost complete) d/ appropriate selection of vocabulary consistent with the topic The student has the right to 2 unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires justification. The lecturer decides on the recognition of absence. Exceeding excused and unexcused absences by 50% of classes may be grounds to fail the course.The conditions for passing the course on the resit exam are the same as on the ordinary of exam. If it is not possible to conduct classroom classes, classes will be conducted using distance communication tools, most likely Google Classroom and others recommended by the University of Warsaw. |
