Prerequisites (description): | Required completion of linguistic block subjects, Introduction to linguistics. Students after completing subjects from the linguistic block, as above, know linguistic terminology, are able to perform linguistic analyzes, systematize materials, language facts, excerpt data from source materials. |

A course subject to choose for students interested in descriptive grammar of the Russian language and Russian - Polish contrastive grammar. Required minimum - passed course Introduction to linguistics. Classes are devoted to linguistic issues, here the separation of detailed grammar and the description of grammatical structures by means of terminological instruments used in Polish and Russian grammar. The general linguistic rules for the description of the grammatical system of the Russian language as a foreign language will be introduced, combined with a projection into Polish. This comparison aims to summarize the basic grammatical terms of Polish and their Russian equivalents. Issues related to defining grammatical concepts in Russian and finding their Polish equivalents will be discussed, which will help in understanding Russian grammatical problems |

Classes in the form of a seminar are intended for students interested in contemporary linguistics. The thematic cycle covers the problems related to the descriptive grammar of modern Russian. The aim of the course is to present the Russian grammatical system as a hierarchical structure combined with the structure of the Polish language. Differences in both systems will be discussed. We will familiarize students with contemporary grammatical terminology. We will present the basics of terminology regarding the nature of the term and the terminological system, the properties of the terms and the principles of their creation. We will discuss the issues of the creation of parallel synonymous terms and the problem of their proper application. We will present the rules for the use of terms - Polish-Russian equivalents, which should help to acquire knowledge in the field of Russian descriptive grammar. In addition, terminological dictionaries will be presented, the structure of passwords and their structure will be discussed. Students will learn to use dictionaries for linguistic, monolingual and translation terms, which will greatly facilitate their acquisition of knowledge in the field of Russian grammar. |

KNOWLEDGE: The student knows and understands the place of linguistics among other sciences. Has basic knowledge of language learning. SKILLS: Student is able to use text in the field of linguistics. The student is able to analyze and apply the appropriate grammatical term. The student can use a dictionary and source text SOCIAL COMPETENCES: The student is aware of the need and improvement of the acquired knowledge. The student has the responsibility for his own preparation for work, the decisions made and their consequences |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Classes end with a credit for the grade based on the test. Number of hours to be spent on achieving optimal learning outcomes, Organized hours - 30, student's independent work - 30 hours, preparation for the test - 30 hours. Total - 90 hours - 3 points ECTS. The basis for passing is the result of the final test, the presence and activity of students in the classroom. The final test is calculated at 30 points. Includes 15 points Ratings: 15 - 17 points - (3), 18 - 21 points - (3+), 22 - 24 points - (4), 25 27 points (4+), 28 - 30 points - (5) The student has the right to 2 unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires justification. The lecturer decides on the recognition of absence. Exceeding excused and unexcused absences by 50% of classes may be grounds to fail the course. The conditions for passing the course on the resit exam are the same as on the ordinary of exam. If it is not possible to conduct classroom classes, classes will be conducted using distance communication tools, most likely Google Classroom and others recommended by the University of Warsaw. |
