Old Church Slavonic grammar 3221-S1-0GS12A

The knowing of Belarusian language and literature of the Old Belarus period will help gaining learning outcomes.

The task of the course is to acquaint students with the phonetic and morphological systems of Belarusian literary language from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century on the basis of linguistic material from the Old Belarusian works.

The seminar is to

present the phonetic and morphological systems of old Belarusian language and acquaint studenst with linguistic changes that are taking place in these systems.

deepen understanding of the evolutions of Belarusian language. Give it its practical application (analysis of linguistic phenomena in old Belarusian texts, searching for changes in the texts, an understanding of phonetic changes, ability to read old Belarusian texts).

Student workload:

30h - participation in exercises, 1 ECTS

15h - credits for preparation for classes, 0,5 ECTS

15h - preparation to pass, 0,5 ECTS.

Total: 2 ECTS (60h)

If it is not possible to conduct classes on university premises, classes shall be held with the aid of distance learning tools, most likely Zoom, Kampus and others recommended by the University of Warsaw.

The students who obtained the credit for written final test of at least 3.0 can take part in the final oral test.

77 - 86% - 4 (good)

71 - 76% - 3,5 (satisfactory plus)

Below 60% - 2,0 (unsatisfactory)

The student has the right to 2 unexcused absences.

The conditions for passing the course on the resit exam are the same as on the ordinary of exam.
