Short description: |
The classes are a continuation of the study of Belarusian at the advanced level and serve to develop the language skills defined for the target level of language proficiency C2 (according to the framework of the CEF). The goal of the classes is to improve the skills of of students in the field of free linguistic communication covering contemporary issues. The classes include the practice of interpreting and translating contemporary Polish and Belarusian texts. |

Learning outcomes: |
Knowledge: the graduate knows and understands: - to an in-depth degree the functioning of language in various contexts, including literature, culture, religion, history, art, politics, economy and media - to a deeper degree the nature of language, the essence and impact of historical and cultural changes on its development - in a deeper degree the differences and similarities between languages and the appropriate techniques of interlingual transfer - in a deeper degree the essence of specialized communication, its limitations and challenges - concepts and principles in the field of intellectual property protection, including copyright in particular Skills: the graduate is able to: - search, analyze, evaluate, select and use information using multilingual sources, including Internet sources, in unpredictable conditions - formulate and test hypotheses related to simple research problems in linguistics - recognize types of specialized texts and conduct their linguistic analysis - communicate using various communication channels and techniques in a selected foreign language - prepare correct, extensive, clear and coherent written works in a foreign language on selected topics, including specialized communication - use a foreign language at the level indicated in the course description, including within the framework of specialized communication - manage work in a team and cooperate in teamwork - independently plan and implement their own lifelong learning |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Conditions for admission to the final exam: - systematic preparation for classes of the assigned material - timely completion of homework and control tests - active participation in the work on presentations, individual and group speeches The exam consists of a written and oral part in the form of a translation task. Criteria: knowledge of grammatical structures, vocabulary. Percentage thresholds for the assessment of the test: 60% - 68% - 3 69% - 77% - 3,5 78% - 86% - 4 87% - 95% - 4,5 96% - 98 % - 5 99% -100% - 5! A maximum of 2 unexcused absences from classes are allowed.A maximum of 2 unexcused absences from classes are allowed each subsequent absence requires the submission of an excuse. Recognition of absences is decided by the lecturer. Exceeding excused and unexcused absences in 50% of classes may be the basis for failing the course. The conditions for passing the course on the correction deadline are the same as on the deadline I. |
