  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Prerequisites (description):

The student should know and understand the linguistic terminology and the basics of the methodology of linguistic research.

The student should have basic knowledge of Ukrainian linguistics.

Short description:

The program of classes provides preparation for writing a thesis.

The current problems of Ukrainian linguistics are considered in the classes. Students will learn the methodology of linguistic research, a number of schools and language courses. At the same time, students are preparing to submit the entire Bachelor's thesis.

Classes are related to the subjects" lexicon and word formation of the Ukrainian language"," morphology"," syntax", ""contrastive grammar".

Full description:

The seminar discusses issues related to the choice of the topic of a bachelor's thesis, the principles of writing a scientific paper, the formal side of writing a thesis. The theme of part of the classes are language functions, language universals. The structure of the Ukrainian language, language units and levels are considered. Mastering the methods and directions of linguistics by students helps to understand the relationships that occur between the elements and planes of the language system as an ordered system. The topics of the classes are m.in. theoretical and applied linguistics, synchronous and diachronic. Issues in the field of Slavic linguistics are discussed. At the same time, students are preparing to submit the entire Bachelor's thesis.

If there is no possibility to conduct classes in a stationary form, classes will be held using remote communication tools, most likely Google meet and others recommended by the university.

30 hours in the room-1 ECTS

10 hours – preparation for classes and 20 hours-preparation for passing-1 ECTS

Learning outcomes:

Student completing the course:

1. knows and understands to an advanced degree:

- research in the field of Ukrainian linguistics; subject and methodological specificity of the subject and terminology; understands the specifics of philological research (S1_W01);

- rules of operation of the Ukrainian language (S1_W02);

- the main directions of development and the most important new achievements in the field of Ukrainian linguistics, methods of analysis of contemporary texts (S1_W04);

- the complex nature of the Ukrainian language (S1_W06);

2. he can:

- search, analyze, evaluate, select and use information about the Ukrainian language using various sources and methods in accordance with the specific topic of The Bachelor's thesis (S1_U01);

- formulate a research problem and select methods for appropriate elaboration and presentation of the results of your work (S1_U02);

- independently acquire knowledge in the field of Ukrainian linguistics and develop research skills, guided by the guidance of a supervisor (S1_U03);

- use theoretical terms and concepts in the field of Ukrainian linguistics and selected Slavic languages, can argue and draw conclusions using the views of other authors (S1_U04; S1_U05);

- prepare correct, clear and coherent written works in polish or Ukrainian, on specific issues, using theoretical approaches, as well as various sources (s1_u07).

The graduate is ready:

- for critical evaluation of knowledge (S1_K01);

- to recognize the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive problems (S1_K02);

- to define priorities for the implementation of the task set by itself and others in the field of social obligations (S1_K03);

- for the correct identification and resolution of professional dilemmas (S1_K04);

- to bear responsibility for the preservation of the cultural heritage of central and eastern Europe (s1_k05).

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Conditions for passing the course (in the first and second approaches):

- active participation in individual research projects;

- preparation of a bachelor's thesis.

The student has the right to 2 unjustified absences, each subsequent requires the submission of an excuse. The lecturer decides on the recognition of absence.

Form of passing the classes at which the student was absent-homework.

Exceeding the absence of justified and unjustified by 50%. classes can be the basis for not counting the subject.
