Short description: |
The purpose of the classes is to familiarize students with the problems of the semantics of the Ukrainian language. This topic allows presenting a broad panorama of linguistics issues and linking semasiological theory and practice. Classes are largely connected with classes on the confrontational grammar of Ukrainian and polish, lexicon and word formation, syntax, introduction to linguistics. |
Full description: |
The task of the classes is to consider the problems of modern semantics of the Ukrainian language. One of the basic principles of the lesson is that the vocabulary and syntax of any language (including Ukrainian) form a system consisting of elements whose function is determined by a number of relationships. At the same time, the nature of functional relationships within the vocabulary is associated with the grammatical system and vice versa: syntax does not exist without lexicon. The classes consider the lexical and grammatical meanings of words, the structure of the word, the concepts of semantem, SEMU, classification of semes. An important part of the lessons is to familiarize students with the systems in lexicon. Students will also learn the theory of word-forming, phraseological and morphological semantics. The language material necessary for semantic analysis broadens the linguistic competence of students, since the lectures are conducted in Ukrainian. If it is not possible to conduct classes in a full-time form, classes will be held using commutation tools, most likely Google meet and others recommended by the university. Estimated total number of hours a student must spend to achieve the learning outcomes defined for the subject – 60 hours (2 ECTS) Hours in the Hall – 30 hours. Independent work of the student: Current preparation for Classes – 15 hours, preparation for passing – 15 hours. |
