ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 7.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

The student has in-depth analysis and interpretation skills of the literary text and contexts.

Short description:

The classes include further monitoring of the research implementation, i.e. the issues undertaken, discussing the structure of the work and literature on the subject.

Full description:

The content of the course concerns the formal, legal and substantive aspects necessary to prepare a thesis.

The content of the course essentially depends on the topics of the diploma theses. The methods of implementation are the student's own work and consultations with the supervisor of the thesis related to the verification of progress in writing thesis, discussing individual analyzes of literary and theoretical texts. The content of the course leads to the development of research skills.

If it is not possible to conduct classroom classes, classes will be conducted using remote communication tools, most likely Google Meet and others. recommended by the University of Warsaw.

30 hours in the classroom - 1 ECTS

90 hours of preparation for classes - 3 ECTS

90 hours of preparation for passing - 3 ECTS

The student knows and understands:

K2_W02 with an extended degree of terminology and methodology of literary research

K2_W03 to an in-depth degree of relations of philological research and their complex relationships with other scientific disciplines

K2_W04 to an in-depth psychological basis of language functioning

K2_W08 Ukrainian in speech and writing in accordance with the requirements specified for level C2 of the European System for the Description of Languages ​​Education

K2_W10 basic concepts and principles in the field of intellectual property and copyright protection

The student is able to:

K2_U02 properly select sources and information derived from them, make a creative interpretation and presentation of information in the field of Ukrainian literature

K2_U04 use appropriate methods and research tools in the field of Ukrainian literary studies

K2_U06 formulate and test hypotheses related to research in the field of Ukrainian literary studies

K2_U07 communicate on specialist topics with diverse audiences

K2_U09 to communicate both orally and in writing in Ukrainian in accordance with the requirements specified for the C2 level of the European System for the Description of Languages

The student is ready to:

K2_K01 critical evaluation of knowledge and content received

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The conditions for completing the course in the main and retake sessions are the same:

preparation of an introduction and two chapters of the thesis.
