  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;

  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;

Short description:

The aim is the students acquire English speaking skill at B1, the level which enables communication in different everyday life situations, while acquanting them with the knowledge of life in the English speaking countries.

Full description:

The aim is the students acquire English speaking skill at B1, the level which enables communication in different everyday life situations, while acquanting them with the knowledge of life in the English speaking countries:

A student can present clear, detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects related to their field of interest. They can explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

The content of the study:

a student gets acquainted with the following lexis domains: design, business, engineering, trends, arts and media, crime;

a student is prepared to use the following grammar structures both in writing and speaking: modals to express necessity, obligation, present deduction, past continuous and past perfect simple, the passive, artcles, infinitives and -ing forms, reported speech, third conditional.

a student knows the rules according to which a product report, formal and informal correspondence, short formal report and a cause and effect essey are composed and to describe trends, processes.

B1: communicative approach including the following techniques: imitation, synonym-antonym, filling in the gaps, drills, Polish equivalent, mini drama, transformation, definitions, paraphrasing, interview
