ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 6.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

Classes provide for discussing all matters related to the preparation of the diploma thesis, elaboration and editing of the thesis. Establishing the concept and writing the remaining chapters of the work. Drawing the student's attention to the need for self-discipline and rational time management in the last year of study. Preparation for the MA exam.

Classes provide for discussing all matters related to the preparation of the diploma thesis, elaboration and editing of the thesis. Establishing the concept and writing the remaining chapters of the work. Drawing the student's attention to the need for self-discipline and rational time management in the last year of study. Preparation for the MA exam.

The seminar focuses on improving skills in:

1. stylistics of scientific works,

2. the ability to prepare an editorial page of a scientific text,

3. ability to logically construct job objectives, conduct research analysis and formulate conclusions.

Learning outcomes:

Knowledge: a graduate to knows and understands:

in a deepened degree the concepts of intellectual property protection and the need to respect its resources and manages them (S2_W08, Reference to the directional effects of education: K2_W08).

Skills: a graduate can

search, select, analyze, evaluate and use various assessment and assessment methods under unpredictable conditions (S2_U01, Reference to the directional effects of education: K2_U01, K2_U02).

develop their research skills, independently acquire knowledge and undertake activities aimed at managing their own professional career; skilfully formulates thoughts, presents the results of research in the form of oral, written, paper or scientific publication (S2_U03, Reference to the directional effects of education: K2_U03, K2_U02).

formulate, interpret and analyze research problems and carry out own research at the academic level in the field of cultural studies and related disciplines concerning the region of Central and Eastern Europe (S2_U07, Reference to the directional effects of education: K2_U02, K2_U04, K2_U05).

independently plan and implement their own lifelong learning and guide others in this area (S2_U12, Reference to the directional effects of education: K2_U12).

Social competences: a graduate is ready to:

active participation in activities aimed at protecting the national and cultural heritage of the region, using knowledge about its diversity (S2_K01, Reference to the directional effects of education: K2_K05, K2_K02).

proper determination of priorities serving the implementation of a task defined by them or others, and at the same time remains open to new ideas in terms of social obligations, remaining in this area a creative organizer (S2_K03, Reference to the directional effects of education: K2_K02, K2_K03).

Classified /Unclassified assessment based on the presented chapter of the MA thesis (first semester) and based on the submitted thesis (second semester).
