Students should be interested in the political, economic and religious history of Russia.

Short description:

The subject of the lessons is the history of Russia in the 9th-early 20th centuries (political, social, religions and economical history). Great attention is paid to the development of state processes (the Slavic states, the Grand Duchy of Moscow, Russia, the Soviet Union). Consider the relationship of Russia with other countries and peoples. The influence of other peoples on the development of Russian lands is discussed. Also, the historical development of the Russian people and the process of the formation of this nation, its national consciousness and statehood are analyzed.

Full description:

During the discussions the following topics will be discussed:

1. Name of the country and country. The Genesis of the Russians. The first Slavic states in Russia.

2. Rus under the Mongols.

3. Novogrodskaya and Pskov regions. The fight against the aggression of the Teutonic Order.

4. The growth of the Moscow State and the Grand Duchy of Moscow. The first Moscow rulers.

5. Foreign policy of the Moscow State in the 14th - the middle of the 16th century. Moscow is the third Rome.

6. Domestic and foreign policy during the reign of Ivan the Terrible.

7. The Great Troubles.

8. The first representatives of the Romanov monarchy.

9. Russia during the reign of Peter I.

10. Period of palace coups. Catherine II the Great.

11. Russia in the first half of the XIX century. The Franco-Russian War. Internal and foreign policy of Nicholas I

12. Reforms in Russia in the second half of the XIX century. Domestic and foreign policy of Alexander II and Alexander III.

13. Russia in the early 20th century. The First World War and the 1917 Revolution

14. The Civil War in Russia.
