Target level of the course: A1 (basic) according to The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment: http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/LanguageSelfAssessmentGrid/pl)

After the course at this level, the student, when speaking slowly and clearly, understands the basic expressions about himself, family, immediate surroundings, his apartment.

He knows the Belarusian Cyrillic alphabet.

In written text, he understands familiar vocabulary, names and simple sentences.

He is able to read information contained in, for example, advertisements, posters, catalogs.

Can communicate easily, provided the other party is prepared to repeat things at a slower pace and helps to form what he wants to say.

He can ask and answer questions about everyday life, his own needs, known topics.

Can use simple phrases and sentences to describe: where he lives, where he comes from, and people he knows.

Can write a short, simple text, e.g. holiday greetings.

He can fill in a form with personal data, provide nationality, profession, address, e.g. in the hotel registration form.

Level A1

After completing the course, the student:

KNOWLEDGE:

1. use a vocabulary necessary to find oneself in the space of a given language;

2. has a basic knowledge of the description of the language system;

3. knows selected issues concerning his family, home, apartment, his relatives and friends.

SKILLS:

1. communicates on topics related to everyday life and in simple social situations;

2. identifies messages in selected, simple materials of various types and verbal messages;

3. understands the information contained in selected, simple everyday materials;

4. provides oral and written information using mastered structures.

COMPETENCES:

1. is able to cooperate in a pair and in a group;

2. knows learning strategies and understands the need for self-education and lifelong learning;

3. reacts linguistically correctly in various situations;

4. knows the basic moral principles and the related verbal and non-verbal reactions in force in a given cultural and linguistic area;

5. recognizes cultural differences and shows tolerance towards the differences of the users of a given language.

With regard to the specialty learning outcomes after completing the course, the student:

1) knows and understands at an elementary level the complex nature of the language, with particular emphasis on the cultural context of Belarus (K1_W09, K2_W09, reference to P6S_WG Scope and depth, P6S_WK Context / conditions, effects);

2) can use the Belarussian language at A1 level according to the European System of Language Learning Description (K1_U09, K2_U09, reference to P6S_UK Communication / receiving and creating statements, disseminating knowledge in the scientific community and using a foreign language).

Compulsory attendance is required in accordance with the WLS Study Regulations.

The grade for passing language classes consists of the following elements:

- prepared oral statements, spontaneous statements in class, possibly other forms of speech according to the teacher's decision depending on the goals set in a given semester (e.g. dialogue in pairs, short presentation, role play) - 25% of the grade,

- homework results, short tests - 25% of the mark,

- final test results - 50% of the grade.

At the same time, in order to obtain a positive grade for a semester, it is necessary to demonstrate achievements in relation to each of the above-mentioned categories (a student who receives 0% in any category, i.e. has not shown any activity in one of them, will not receive a credit).

99 - 100% - 5 (excellent)

93 - 98% - 5 (very good)

87 - 92% - 4+ (good plus)

77 - 86% - 4 (good)

71 - 76% - 3+ (sufficient plus)

60 - 70% - 3 (sufficient)

Student workload:

Participation in classes in the classroom - 90 hours (4 ECTS)

Preparation for classes - 45 hours (2 ECTS)
