Prerequisites (description): | (in Polish) Po kursie na tym poziomie student potrafi zrozumieć dłuższą wypowiedź nawet jeśli jest niedbała i gdy związki wyrazowe nie są wyraźne, lecz domyślne. Bez większego wysiłku rozumie programy TV i filmy. Rozumie długie złożone teksty informacyjno-użytkowe i literackie, potrafi rozróżnić ich styl. Rozumie artykuły specjalistyczne i dłuższe instrukcje techniczne, nawet jeśli nie dotyczą one jego dziedziny zainteresowań. Potrafi wyrażać się płynnie i spontanicznie, bez zastanowienia i bez widocznego trudu dobierając słownictwo. Umie posługiwać się językiem elastycznie i skutecznie dla celów towarzyskich i zawodowych. Potrafi precyzyjnie formułować myśli i opinie, uczestniczyć aktywnie w rozmowie będąc równorzędnym partnerem dla rozmówców. Umie przedstawić jasny, szczegółowy opis złożonych tematów, wraz z podtematami, rozwijając poszczególne punkty i wyciągając właściwe wnioski. Potrafi wyczerpująco wyrazić swoje myśli w przejrzystym i poprawnie zbudowanym tekście, przedstawiając dość szeroko swój punkt widzenia/opinię. Potrafi szczegółowo przedstawić istotę złożonych problemów w formie listu, eseju lub sprawozdania, podkreślając najważniejsze według niego sprawy. Potrafi sformułować różne rodzaje tekstu w stylu odpowiednim do adresata.Po kursie na tym poziomie student potrafi zrozumieć dłuższą wypowiedź nawet jeśli jest niedbała i gdy związki wyrazowe nie są wyraźne, lecz domyślne. Bez większego wysiłku rozumie programy TV i filmy. |

Upon completion a student can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts and recognize implict meanings; s/he can express himself/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions; s/hecan use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes; s/he can produce clear, well-structured, detailed texts on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices. |
Learning outcomes: |
C1 level On completing the course, the student: (Skills) 1. expresses himself/herself in a precise and comprehensive way, using effectively various kinds of oral or written discourse in social, academic and professional contacts and matters 2. adopts the style of oral and written discourse to a potential recipient, making an appropriate use of the rules of discourse organization 3. makes analysis, synthesis and interpretation of information, instructions to perform various tasks, including tests instructions, both heard or read, from a wide range of longer, complex texts on general subjects as well as those relating to his/her subject of studies 4. participates actively and spontaneously in conversations, discussion and lectures, conducted by native and other users of the language 5. uses a wide range of vocabulary enabling precise expression of emotions and formulating ideas and opinions on abstract, complex and unfamiliar topics 6. solves few communication problems independently, consulting dictionaries or asking the speaker to explain details (Knowledge and Attitudes) 7. makes use of knowledge, acquired during the course, of culture of a given linguistic region 8. cooperates effectively within the group, assigning tasks for himself/herself and others 9. recognizes his/her own learning style and chooses ways for continuing self-development 10. shows tolerance towards a variety of attitudes and opinions in interpersonal contacts. |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
COMPLETION OF LANGUAGE COURSES 1. The following elements are taken into account before assessing the completion of the course: - active participation in language classes (25 per cent) - tests and homework results (25 per cent) - final test result (50 per cent), however, in order to gain a positive mark for completing the course, students must show certain achievements with regard to each of the above categories (no mark will be given to a student who has received 0 per cent in any of the categories, or has not shown any activity in one of them). Grading scale 99-100 per cent - 5( outstanding) 93-98 per cent – 5 (very good) 87-92 per cent - 4+(good plus) 77-86 per cent - 4 (good) 71-76 per cent – 3+ (satisfactory plus) 60-70 per cent – 3 (satisfactory) A student is granted 2 ECTS points for completing a 60-hour-course, which means for achieving expected learning outcomes. 2. In addition, the teacher will define specific detailed principles and criteria for completion of the course and present them to students during the first class in a given academic year. 3. A student has the right to be absent 3 times in one term, consisting of 60 class hours (thirty 2-hour classes) with no need to explain reasons for being absent. At the beginning of the course the teacher will instruct students on how to make up for the absence and complete what they have missed. 4. The mark given for the completion of the course (as well as ECTS points) will enter the University Student Service System (USOS) 5. The unsatisfactory mark can only be given to students who have not shown satisfactory results in tests, homework and the final achievement test. 6. Students should register for language courses themselves during the officially announced registration period only. Similarly, if students want to resign, they have to do that themselves but only during the registration period. |
