  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Learning outcomes:

After the course a student:

translates on their own with a dictionary a simple Latin text or verifies the correctnesss of its translation (e.g to German)

- describes and translates Latin words’ forms and syntaxies (ACI, Dativus auctoris etc) to satisfy their teacher at least

- points the similiarities and the diffrences between Latin and German grammatical forms which are often described with the same terms

- as a prospective philologist describes the Latin and partly the Pre-Indo-European language’s influence on other European languages

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The final mark is given on the ground of the student’s preparation to classes and activity during them, tests written during the semester, the final written test.
