  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

The course aims at making the students acquainted with the outcomes and methods representative of the most recent research on the history of Portugal and the broad concept of the Portuguese culture. The classes shall offer room for debate and exchange, inspired by a thematically structured source material.

O objetivo do curso consiste em familiarizar os estudantes com os estudos mais recentes dedicados à história e à cultura portuguesas.

Full description:

During the course students will discover the outcomes of the most recent research pertaining to the history of Portugal and to diversified manifestations of Portuguese culture. The classes shall offer room for debate and exchange around the topics of interest. A thematic structuring of the content is thought to be a catalyst for students so that they can conceptualise their own research problems, serving to help them develop their skills as for the conscious use of an academic discourse with its particular components, i.e. a proper arrangement of an academic text and a relevant choice of phraseology.

Suggested topics are as follows: methodology, an overview of how the heritage of the Portuguese researchers coincides with the latest research avenues of the disciplines in question, auxiliary sciences.

O objetivo do curso consiste em familiarizar os estudantes com os estudos mais recentes dedicados à história e à cultura portuguesas. Durante o curso os estudantes conhecerão diversos problemas, teorias, metodologias e métodos. O curso será espaço de partilha de ideias e pesquisas.
