Short description:	The course aims at making the students acquainted with the outcomes and methods representative of the most recent research on the history of Portugal and the broad concept of the Portuguese culture. The classes shall offer room for debate and exchange, inspired by a thematically structured source material. O objetivo do curso consiste em familiarizar os estudantes com os estudos mais recentes dedicados à história e à cultura portuguesas.
Full description:	During the course students will discover the outcomes of the most recent research pertaining to the history of Portugal and to diversified manifestations of Portuguese culture. The classes shall offer room for debate and exchange around the topics of interest. A thematic structuring of the content is thought to be a catalyst for students so that they can conceptualise their own research problems, serving to help them develop their skills as for the conscious use of an academic discourse with its particular components, i.e. a proper arrangement of an academic text and a relevant choice of phraseology. Suggested topics are as follows: methodology, an overview of how the heritage of the Portuguese researchers coincides with the latest research avenues of the disciplines in question, auxiliary sciences. O objetivo do curso consiste em familiarizar os estudantes com os estudos mais recentes dedicados à história e à cultura portuguesas. Durante o curso os estudantes conhecerão diversos problemas, teorias, metodologias e métodos. O curso será espaço de partilha de ideias e pesquisas.

Elementos a ter em conta: assisitir às aulas, participar na discussão, realizar atividades na sala de aula e fora da sala de aula (fichas de trabalho, TPC), conhecimento das leituras (preveem-se pequenos testes, ficha de leitura). Exame escrito na época de exames.
