Short description:	The subject provides an introduction into one of the methods for social work - work with the family. Its aim is to enable students to understand the family as a system, which is the part of a broader social system and to know basic methods and techniques of family work.
Full description:	Subject includes issues relating to family work as the method of social work. These are: understanding of family as a system, influences of social problems on family life disintegration processes. During the course students will also have the opportunity to become familiar with such issues as: family in crisis - crisis intervention - diagnosis and change implementation, Family therapy approaches in relation to family social work 1)The family as a system and the family in the social system. 2)The functions of the family and their transformation 3)Social problems and family life disorganization 4)The family in crisis. Diagnosis. 5)changing a family system 6) Social work with family: Psychoanalytical approach experience based approach behavioral – cognitive approach Transactional Analysis System perspective: communication family therapy structural family therapy strategic family therapy 7)The first meeting with the family - the use of the chronology of family life

Learning outcomes:	The education in the framework of this subject will enable the student to discuss the main issues related to the concept of family as a system, a small social group or a social institution. The student will understand basic family related processes. He will be capable of diagnosing, planning procedures concerning the implementation of changes in the family system.
