Short description:	Course outline focuses on basic information about verbal and non-verbal communication, selected theories of communication as well as practical communication skills such as active listening, formulating "I" messages, non-defensive communication, communication in conflict.
Full description:	Aims: Familiarizing students with selected theories of interpersonal communication; Teaching practical communication skills. Course Outline: What Is Interpersonal Communication; definitions, transactional approach, passive and active listening; techniques of active listening; constructive feedback information; 'Johari Window'; assertiveness; openness in interpersonal communication; "I" messages; Non-verbal communication: information transmission channels; functions. Content- and relation-aspects of a message; Manipulation; Constructive communication in conflict; Auto-presentation; Communication between women and men; Communication between parents and children; Communication with people in altered states of consciousness; Intercultural communication.
