Short description:	The course is devoted to the description of local structures' social potential, social self organization, field research and their scientific description.
Full description:	Aim: the introduction to the monographic research, used in the analysis of local communities. Presentation of the issues of local authorities, formation of local elites, transitions effects on political and social levels. Curriculum: The course includes issues on monographic research with the particular stress to American and Polish research traditions of the local communities research.
