Short description:

The lecture presents relations between discourse analysis and the problems of social sciences and cultural sciences. Its aim is to introduce main models of sociologically oriented discourse analysis. Their presentation will be based on the analysis of connections between language, society and culture. Discourse will be discussed as the use of natural language – text and speech. Discourse as the language use is simultaneously communication and interaction, which imply social cognition, knowledge and power. Research on discourse in the sociology of everyday life will be presented – motive talk, conversation analysis, as well as analysis of organizational discourse and public discourse. The development of studies on communicative practices will be presented from ethnography of speaking to contemporary cultural discourse analysis. Pragmatic, semantic and rhetorical methods of discourse analysis will be discussed.

The lecture presents relations between discourse analysis and the problems of social sciences and cultural sciences. Its aim is to introduce main models of sociologically oriented discourse analysis. Their presentation will be based on the analysis of connections between language, society and culture. Discourse will be discussed as the use of natural language – text and speech. Discourse as language use is simultaneously communication and interaction, which imply social cognition, knowledge and power. Research on discourse in the sociology of everyday life will be presented – motive talk, conversation analysis, as well as analysis of organizational discourse and public discourse. The connections between the narratological approach in discourse analysis and biographical methods in sociology will be shown. The development of studies on communicative practices will be presented from ethnography of speaking to contemporary cultural discourse analysis. Pragmatic, semantic and rhetorical methods of discourse analysis will be discussed. Given the importance of the dramaturgical model in the analysis of social communication, the dramaturgical pentad will be analysed. The place of discourse in the social and cultural reality will be shown.

K_W01 Ma pogłębioną wiedzę o specyfice przedmiotowej i metodologicznej językoznawstwa, analizy dyskursu i semiotyki społecznej.

K_W03 Zna terminologię z zakresu językoznawstwa, analizy dyskursu i semiotyki społecznej na poziomie rozszerzonym.

K_W05 Ma pogłębioną wiedzę o związkach językoznawstwa, lingwistycznej analizy dyskursu i semiotyki społecznej z szeroko pojętą humanistyką oraz z naukami społecznymi, w zakresie pozwalającym na integrowanie perspektyw właściwych dla tych dyscyplin naukowych.

K_W07 Zna zaawansowane metody wypracowane przez językoznawstwo, lingwistyczną analizę dyskursu i semiotykę społeczną, pozwalające problematyzować, analizować i interpretować zjawiska zachodzące w dziedzinie kultury, komunikacji międzyludzkiej i dyskursów społecznych.

K_W10 Ma rozszerzoną wiedzę o specyfice nauk społecznych - zwłaszcza socjologicznej analizy dyskursu i badań nad komunikacją społeczną, o ich miejscu w systemie nauk i relacjach z naukami humanistycznymi, zwłaszcza z lingwistyką.

K_W17 Zna wybrane metody i narzędzia opisu z zakresu badań nad komunikacją społeczną oraz z zakresu socjologicznej analizy dyskursu.

K_U02 Posiada pogłębione umiejętności badawcze w zakresie językoznawstwa, lingwistycznej analizy dyskursu i semiotyki społecznej, obejmujące analizę i syntezę stanowisk teoretycznych, dobór metod i konstruowanie narzędzi badawczych, opracowanie i prezentację wyników.

K_U04 Posiada umiejętność integrowania dorobku wypracowanego w różnych paradygmatach językoznawstwa, lingwistycznej analizy dyskursu i semiotyki społecznej oraz potrafi stosować tę wiedzę w sytuacjach zawodowych wymagających mediacji kulturowej i językowej.

K_K08 Jest gotowy samodzielnie i krytycznie uzupełniać swą wiedzę i umiejętności, łącząc perspektywę socjologiczną i lingwistyczną.
