In the second, students will try to use the conceptual framework they have acquired to critically discuss selected examples of completed research projects in the field of a new digital society. |
Full description: |
he digital revolution unfolding on our eyes not only affects visible changes in the patterns of production and consumption of goods and services, the global acceleration of information transmission, or the formation of so-called. culture "instant", but largely reorganizes the labor market and education, allowing access to knowledge and remote work for residents of even the most remote corners of the world. It is worth considering whether, and if so, how the progressing digitalization changes the existing social relationships in various spheres of our lives, ranging from the relationship between the social actors themselves, through new forms of cooperation at the macro level (platformisation, sharing economy), for a look at new forms of research into the social world within the emerging paradigm of digital sociology. The aim of the exercises will be to critically discuss with students selected theoretical issues and case studies exemplifying the problems of digital society, presented during the lecture. The course will be divided into two parts - in the first one, the exercises will consist in analyzing and discussing the source texts of the classics describing the new society (information / networks / digital).
