Short description:	The subject of the course is to present and discuss key issues related to copyright, related rights, trade law and the legal protection of intellectual property.
Full description:	Subject of copyright protection. Personal and economic rights. Characteristics of the concept of intellectual property protection in Poland, Europe and the world. Copyright infringement - civil and criminal liability. Penalties. Software and copyright law. The term of protection work. The duration of copyrights. The use of protected works. Licensing agreements, agreements for the transfer of property rights, free licenses. Copyright management. Databases and their protection. Industrial property. Patents and industrial designs. Trademarks. Protection of business names. Geographical indications. EU law and the Polish law. Historical issues related to the protection of intellectual property. Organizations for collective management of copyright.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:	Tests on the Internet platform. To complete the course student should obtain a minimum of 80% of the points available.
