Prerequisites (description):	Knowledge of qualitative research techniques and methods. Formal prerquisites Knowledge of English language sufficient for comprehensive reading.
Short description:	The aim of the course is to raise students’ awareness of ethical issues and dilemmas encountered in qualitative interviewing and observation. Discussion will be based on reading of handbooks, as well as academic texts describing specific cases.
Full description:	(in Polish) Celem kursu jest uwrażliwienie uczestników i uczestniczek na problemy i dylematy etyczne, jakie napotykamy, realizując wywiady jakościowe i obserwacje. Punktem wyjścia będzie dyskusja o ramach formalnych i prawnych badań jakościowych i ich problematyzacja. W dalszej części przyjrzymy się szczegółowym problemom, które (niemal) każdorazowo muszą być poddane refleksji w toku realizacji badań. Zastanowimy się, czy kodeksy etyczne dostarczają wystarczających wskazówek oraz jak podejmować właściwe decyzje etyczne w terenie. Weźmiemy pod uwagę dobrostan różnych aktorów zaangażowanych w proces badawczy. Pogłębiona dyskusja będzie oparta o literaturę podręcznikową oraz o teksty źródłowe, dotyczące konkretnych przykładów badań.
