During the seminar, we will discuss the changes in gender discourse discourse, on the example of Polish society and international examples. We will be interested in what the gender perspective reveals in discourses on phenomena related to various aspects of the public and private spheres. |

During the seminar, we will discuss the changes in gender discourse discourse, on the example of Polish society and international examples. We will be interested in what the gender perspective reveals in discourses on phenomena related to various aspects of the public and private spheres. We will look at the changing social image of femininity and masculinity in such spheres as the family, the labour market, popular culture, sport and politics. We will consider how intersectional perspective allows to critically analyze gender discourses. We will discuss what kind of power relationships are sustained by specific gender discourses. |

(in Polish) K_W10 Ma rozszerzoną wiedzę o specyfice nauk społecznych – zwłaszcza socjologicznej analizy dyskursu i badań nad komunikacją społeczną. K_W14 Ma pogłębioną wiedzę o relacjach między strukturami i instytucjami społecznymi a językowymi oraz społecznymi aspektami budowania tożsamości indywidualnej i grupowej. K_W16 Ma rozszerzoną wiedzę o człowieku jako twórcy i uczestniku dyskursów społecznych i kulturowych. K_U01 Wykorzystując różne źródła potrafi wyszukiwać, selekcjonować, analizować, oceniać i integrować informacje dotyczące języka, komunikacji i dyskursywnych aspektów życia społecznego i formułować na tej podstawie krytyczne sądy. K_U16 Posiada umiejętność rozumienia i analizowania zjawisk społecznych, wzbogaconą o umiejętność oceny tych zjawisk z perspektywy socjologicznej analizy dyskursu i badań nad komunikacją. | Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
A mini project based on the analysis of the discourse of a selected topic from the topics discussed in the class. To the hours allocated for classes in the room (30h) should be added the time necessary to prepare for classes (reading, reading notes) - 4h and the time necessary to prepare for the final credit (writing a final essay) - 10h two absences possible, greater number of absences - need to make a note from the text discussed in the classes in which they did not participate improvement - taking into account the comments made in the thesis which failed to pass the exam |
