  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;

Short description:

Continuation of the previous years’ program. Next level of language course based on Japanese cultural issues. It applies to basic grammar of modern, standard Japanese language (hyōjungo). The aim of the course is comprehension and practical use of language constructions introduced during this and other classes on Japanese language. It covers practical Japanese usage, conversation, and text composition. Classes will be conducted in Japanese language.

Full description:

The main aim of the classes will be developing of comprehension and practical use of language constructions. These abilities will be practiced while presenting homework and its correction. Also exercises during classes will be added.

In the text composition class, students will learn to recognize the styles of kakikotoba (written language) and hanashikotoba (spoken language), and improve their writing skills in Japanese.

In Japanese text composition classes one topic will be tackled in three lessons:

1. Learning the diverse styles and use of Japanese through various materials (newspaper articles, exercises from workbooks etc.)

2. Discussion in small groups

3. Writing essays at home

4. Checking submitted essays so as to find and correct errors.

Students are required to submit essays on time.

K_U06 can read, analyze and interpret literary texts and other works of culture (film, press, social writing) of Japan and appropriately place them in their cultural context

K_U12 has a command of Japanese language at the B2 level

K_U15 can interpret key terms from culture of Japan through linguistic/philological analysis

K_U17 can function properly in the linguistic and cultural environment of Japan

K_U21, has the ability to present detailed issues in the field of Japanese culture in Polish and in a foreign language, taking into account the intellectual tradition of Japan

K_U22 has a skill at formulating own opinions and conclusions in writing and in speech both in Polish and in Japanese

K_U24, can use electronic and internet tools in Polish and in Japanese

K_K01 understands the need to learn all one’s life

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The evaluation will be based on the following requirements:

- sufficient attendance ( up to two absences without a sick note)

in case of sick notes - at least 50 per cent of attendance is required

- preparation for the class and assertive participation in the class

- submission of essays

- written exam in the end of the semester
