Short description: |
The classes are a continuation of the Hausa grammar course. During the classes, students learn the grammar rules and structure of the African language (Hausa). Students acquire the ability to understand selected grammatical structures and use language structures which are correct at the phonological, morphological and syntactic level, enabling them to effectively use the Hausa language in writing and speaking. |
|
Full description: |
The classes are aimed at improving pronunciation, writing in accordance with the rules of spelling, and speaking at a basic level, as well as practicing the use of basic grammatical structures which are necessary to make correct sentences in Hausa. The curriculum is based on the textbook for learning the language (R.Cowan & R.Schuh "Spoken Hausa", New York , 1976) with modifications such as updating information on the communicative aspects of the language and adapting the content to the didactic needs of Polish students. Each thematic unit of the course (25 in total, delivered over 2 years) consists of the following parts: - phonetic exercises - situational dialogue embedded in a cultural context - new vocabulary - grammar explanations - practical grammar exercises (oral and written). |
